When the famous jazz saxophonist and innovator, Charlie Parker (aka Bird, aka Yardbird), died many hipsters and other such culture graffitied "BIRD LIVES" on buildings, wet cement, and wherever else, as a sort of homage of his death. This painting was created as if I were one of the people back then, in mid-March 1955, paying artistic respects to a musical shear
About Michael Morgan
Michael Morgan currently lives in Virginia Beach, VA. At 40 years old, he has developed many different styles and themes and his more recent works particularly exercise abstract expressionism and portraits of famous individuals. He studied art at Hampton High School and Mount Saint Mary's University. His favorite types of art are Surrealism and Expressionism and his artwork has been accepted and included in a number of shows, with several awards along the way. He is also currently the member of several local art organizations with pieces showing in several galleries. Michael's primary media is pencil, pen/ink and acrylic painting.
