Description
My main idea of this piece involves an egg that has been forced into a roll by the embryo inside it and eventually hatches. It also represents being born into something that youve already been a part of and that you now have more control over. I see this as a stage we all, at some point, experience at least once in a lifetime. The embryo or creature-like being that is hatching from the rolling egg represents the birth of something that has always been alive, just in a different way. Like a rolling stone as Bob Dylan once said, this creature climbing out of the rolling egg has been alive all the time. You could also say the egg was living in a way because of its rolling continuously. And now that the creature is born out of that rolling stone or egg, he is now another rolling stone, being more freely able to participate and act upon what is going on in the world. He is now another object but can also create more force himself from within. The egg is technically a stationary and lifeless object (containing life), which needed a push from something else (the life it contained). I.e. the egg that eventually started rolling was created from a force within, specifically by the embryo wanting to get out.
